With Jake Lamb on the 15-day disabled list, the Arizona Diamondbacks added some infield depth to the organization Tuesday.

The team signed utility man Kevin Frandsen to a minor league deal, and the 32-year-old right-handed hitter suited up for Triple-A Reno before the night was over.

Reno’s public relations Twitter account noted the infielder singled in his first at-bat with his new club.

Frandsen finished the night 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in the Aces’ 8-3 win over Las Vegas.

The veteran was released by the Washington Nationals in early April ahead of Opening Day — after spending the 2014 season in the nation’s captial.

The San Jose, California, native has played in eight MLB seasons, also spending time with the San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Angels and Philadelphia Phillies. Last season with the Nationals, Frandsen hit .259 with eight doubles, one home run and 17 RBI in 105 games. He has played in 507 MLB games in his career, sustaining a .259 batting average with 57 doubles, five triples, 15 home runs and 110 RBI.

The Diamondbacks recalled infielder Danny Dorn from Reno after Lamb was placed on the DL. Prized offseason acquisition Yasmany Tomas started at third base in Tuesday’s series opener at home against Texas.
