Reports: Arizona Diamondbacks trade for pitcher Jeremy Hellickson

The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson from the Tampa Bay Rays according to CBS’ Jon Heyman.

Hellickson started 13 games for the Rays last season, going 1-5 with a 4.52 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP.
He is a former 2011 Rookie of the Year and 2012 Gold Glove winner, boasting a career record of 40-36 with a 3.78 ERA and 1.26 WHIP.
#Rays, per reports, are getting OF Justin Williams and SS Andrew Velazquez for Hellickson. Both seem likely headed to Class A Bowling Green.

Justin Williams was Arizona’s second-round pick in 2013 out of Terrebonne High School. He combined to hit .351 with four home runs and 46 RBIs in 74 games between rookie ball and Class A South Bend last season.
MLB Pipeline ranks Williams No. 14 among Dbacks prospects.
Andrew Velazquez was Arizona’s seventh-round pick in 2012. The switch-hitting shortstop hit .290 with nine home runs and 56 RBIs in 134 games with Class A South Bend last season.
Velazquez was ranked No. 12 among Dbacks prospects by MLB Pipeline.
