The Phoenix Suns are as hot as their name implies.

On the road one night after Christmas, the Suns burned off those holiday meal calories in an exciting 115-106 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday for their fifth consecutive win.

It was a revenge game of sorts for Phoenix, getting even after falling to the Kings 114-112 in double overtime at home on Nov. 7.

The Morris twins, Marcus and Markieff, dominated the high-scoring affair, scoring 20 and 17 points respectively. Marcus was on fire from beyond the arc, nailing six of seven from long range.

Phoenix as a whole had a strong night from 3. After shooting at a 50 percent clip through its first 20 attempts, the team finished 14-for-33 (42 percent) overall.

While the Morris brothers stole the show, the three point guards had solid nights as well. Isaiah Thomas dropped 17 points on his former team, while Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe combined for 34 points.

The Suns improved to 17-14 overall and 10-7 away from home.

Here’s a look at Friday’s victory by the numbers.

2

Zoran Dragic made his second NBA appearance late in Friday night’s game. He played 1:10 in his first action since Nov. 15 against the Los Angeles Clippers. He is yet to score in his NBA career on one attempted shot.

3

Alex Len recorded his third double-double of the season, scoring 10 points and grabbing a team-high 11 rebounds. Two of the center’s three double-doubles have come on the road.

5

Miles Plumlee and Len had a two-man block party, each swatting away five shots. The Suns had 11 blocks to Sacramento’s two.

6

Six Suns scored in double digits, including four of the starting five. Markieff Morris (17), Alex Len (10), Goran Dragic (16), Eric Bledsoe (18), Isaiah Thomas (17) and Marcus Morris (20).

11:05

Gerald Green played just 11:05 after getting into early foul trouble. The 28-year-old went to the bench after picking up three fouls in a little over seven minutes of floor time. He finished with seven points.

16

The Suns held the Kings to just 16 points in the final quarter after entering the frame up four points. It was a strong defensive effort after allowing 69 points combined in the second and third quarters.

24

Nearly a quarter of Sacramento’s points came off Phoenix turnovers, as the Suns allowed 24 points off 14 turnovers. Phoenix scored just nine points of 13 Kings giveaways.
