It’s over! It’s finally over!
Eighty-five days after free agency began in the NBA, the Phoenix Suns and guard Eric Bledsoe agreed on a new five-year, $70 million contract Wednesday.
It’s not the max deal Bledsoe and his agent Rich Paul were seeking, but it’s an additional year and $22 million more than the Suns originally offered earlier this summer.
Needless to say, the internet exploded with reaction after the news broke.
The Experts
Rapid reaction: If I was Bledsoe, I would have taken less money, less years if they gave me an opt out. But I get why he took this deal

If I;m Suns, I overpaid, but I also see why they did it, bec it's not a gross overpay….but:
1- set the mkt for Dragic
2- What about Thomas— Amin Elhassan (@AminESPN) September 24, 2014
If Bledsoe is worth $70M, how much is Dragic worth? $80M? $85M?

Suns apparently decided that the prospect of both Eric Bledsoe & Goran Dragic becoming unrestricted free agents in July was less than ideal

With Bledsoe deal, Suns should have about $4.7M under salary cap. Leaves them enough to sign Zoran Dragic & help pay buyout with Malaga

The way Eric Bledsoe plays on both ends of the floor, he needs to take well-deserved breathers. Isaiah Thomas will get minutes.

No early out for Eric Bledsoe in 5-year, $70M deal to stay with Suns, per sources. @WojYahooNBA first w/numbers. Fair contract 4 both sides.

With new TV contract $, salaries likely to explode in next 3-5 years. No chance PGs will sign for $12M/per. That's why this works for both.

Don't get me wrong, I like Eric Bledsoe — a lot. But $14 million a year for basically 43 games is a lot of cash.
— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) September 24, 2014
Remember when the relationship between Bledsoe and Suns was so strained they would never talk again — Cash cures everything.

Bledsoe gets $70 million extension from the Suns. That's $212 million in extensions for Kentucky's Big 3 from 2010 (Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe)

The Fans
Eric Bledsoe was living in a car 7 years ago. He signed a $70 million deal today.
I was eating ramen 7 years ago. I ate ramen today.

I'm sorry but Bledsoe isn't worth 70 mil

Bledsoe should show PHX some love in his first interview. Hell maybe even crack a smile.

I don't really care who “won” the contract. I'm just happy to have Bledsoe back and am looking forward to the season.
