The Phoenix Suns are attempting to reunite another pair of brothers on their roster, as they negotiate for a contract with Zoran Dragic, according to Marc Stein.

The team is reportedly in competition with the Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers to sign Zoran, but because the guard’s brother, Goran Dragic, already plays in Phoenix, the Suns are considered the favorite. Zoran recently impressed with his play for Slovenia in the FIBA World Cup, where the 25-year-old averaged 12.9 points and shot 43.3 percent from three-point range in the tournament.

Contract negotiations began quickly after Slovenia was knocked out of the tournament with a 119-76 loss to Team USA on Tuesday. Zoran had 11 points and five rebounds in the loss.

Zoran’s current contract with Spain’s Unicaja Malaga would need to be bought out for any team to sign him. A buyout would equate to nearly $1 million, compensating Unicaja for the amount they would get if Zoran would leave in the summer of 2015.

The Suns potentially have more than enough cap space to buyout Zoran’s contract and sign him to an NBA deal, but they would have to work around the $600,000 NBA cap for buying out international contracts.

If the Suns could finalize a deal with Zoran, he and his brother would join twins Marcus and Markieff Morris as teammates in Phoenix.
