In an incident that has recently come to light, Phoenix Suns forward P.J. Tucker was arrested for extreme DUI in May by Scottsdale police.
ABC15 says a police report notes that Tucker had a blood-alcohol content of higher than .20. The legal limit in Arizona is .08 before police assess a DUI charge.
The report says Tucker was driving his 2011 Mercedes-Benz when police say he rolled through a stop-sign near Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall.
The Suns issued a statement to ABC15 that said they were aware of the situation but won’t comment until Tucker, 29, has his case resoved in court.
Tucker is coming off his best season as a pro, as he posted 9.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.4 steals and shot 38.7 percent from behind the 3-point line. The small forward was a restricted free agent this summer, but the Suns signed him last week to a three-year, $16.5 million contract.
Tucker’s arrest came in the month following the end of Phoenix’s 2013-14 season.
