TEMPE, Ariz. — Want to know what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?

Just watch the Arizona Cardinals take on the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium Sunday afternoon as the NFL’s leading rusher, DeMarco Murray, faces off with an Arizona team boasting the league’s third-rated run defense.

Murray has run for at least 100 yards in all eight games he’s played this season; the Cardinals have not allowed a single player to reach the century mark on the ground in 17 straight games.

Murray, who has rushed for 1,054 yards and seven touchdowns on 206 carries, is the first player in NFL history to reach the 100-yard mark in each of the season’s first eight games.

“No one’s ever done it, so it’s as impressive as it gets for a running back in this league,” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said. “I’ve been around some good backs, and Christian Okoye, Edgerrin James, some other guys, but no one’s done what he’s done.

“So you’ve got to put your hat off to him and say great job.”

Now it’s up to the Cardinals to try and do what no one has been able to do this season: slow Murray down.

It’s a task easier said than done, as the Cowboys are built to run the football after using a trio of recent first-round picks to create one of the league’s better offensive lines.
