The three-time defending Arena Bowl champion Arizona Rattlers have appointed Chris Presson as their new president, the team announced Tuesday.
Presson served for three seasons as the general manager of the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League. Last month, the Sundogs suspended operations for the 2014-15 season with a desire to resume play in 2015-16.
“With Chris’ extensive sales and sports marketing background we are excited to have him oversee the business operations of the franchise. With his expertise, we look forward to working together to elevate the Rattlers to the next level,” Rattlers owner Ron Shurts said in a statement.
Presson was named the CHL Executive of the Year twice during his stint with the Sundogs.
“It’s not often you get a chance to lead a franchise with the status the Arizona Rattlers have,” said Presson in a statement. “I’m privileged to have this opportunity and my family and I are excited to make the move.”
He replaces Joe Windham, who parted ways with the organization last month after taking over as team president during the 2011 season. He was named the Arena Football League’s Executive of the Year in 2013.
