Your move, Taylor Kelly.
On Thursday, Andrew Walter, who played quarterback for the Arizona State Sun Devils from 2001-04 and is a Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Arizona’s 9th district, accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise ALS awareness.
Walter, who played in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots, was nominated to take the challenge by John DeFilippo, his former quarterbacks coach with the Raiders. Walter posted the video of his dousing on his campaign’s Facebook page.
The entire ASU and Arizona Cardinals football teams were nominated to take the Ice Bucket Challenge on Thursday by Mac and Gaydos on KTAR 92.3 FM, but Walter specifically called out Kelly, this year’s starting Sun Devil QB. He also challenged former Washington Huskies QB and Raiders teammate Marques Tuiasosopo, along with Arizona Republican Party chairman Robert Graham.
Earlier this week, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians and Arizona Coyotes forward Paul Bissonnette (in epic fashion) accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge.
