L.A. Lakers’ Nick Young tries to woo Phoenix Suns’ Goran Dragic

The future of Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic is a little uncertain, as he is set to become a free agent after this season.

The Suns’ scoring leader as well as the 2013-14 NBA Most Improved Player Award winner, the 28-year-old stands to be one of the most coveted players on the market.

Will the Suns keep him? By all accounts they would like to, and he has expressed no desire to leave, though some wonder if the team will offer enough money and minutes/shots with Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas already signed to long-term contracts.

Knowing that, Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick “Swaggy P” Young apparently did his best to try and recruit Dragic to Tinseltown while the teams were playing Monday night in Phoenix.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, he spent part of the game, which Phoenix won 115-100, trying to play pitchman.

“I told Goran Dragic on the court, ‘You might be my teammate next year.'” Young told the L.A. News Group shortly after the Lakers’ loss on Monday to the Phoenix Suns. “I’ll talk to Marc (Gasol.) Me and him are cool. Kevin Love, I’ll talk to him.”

How much — if any — impact Young’s pitch had on Dragic is uncertain, though it’s difficult to imagine a competitor like him choosing to leave an on-the-rise Suns team in favor or a rebuilding Lakers squad.

However, until Dragic re-ups with Phoenix there will be those who think he won’t, and if he does leave, L.A. could very well be an option.
