Sometimes, hitting the road is the best way to clear your head and get back in the right frame of mind.

It’s sure been working for the Phoenix Suns.

After dropping six straight contests, including three at home, the Suns have put together three consecutive wins — all away from US Airways Center — including their 104-92 win at the Washington Wizards on Sunday.

The Suns led by as many as 15 points, but the Wizards rallied to trim the Suns’ lead to 95-89 with three minutes to play. But back-to-back jumpers by Markieff Morris and Eric Bledsoe pushed the lead back to double digits and sealed the deal.

Markieff Morris and Bledsoe had 17 points apiece, while Goran Dragic added 16 points and six rebounds, and Alex Len contributed eight points, eight boards and four blocks.

Here’s a closer look at how the Suns (15-14) crept back above .500, while the Wizards dropped to 19-7 and lost just their third home game of the season, by the numbers:

3

The Suns out-rebounded the Wizards by three, 45-42, on Sunday. Bledsoe led the way with nine rebounds. Five Phoenix players grabbed at least five boards.

9-7

The Suns improved to 9-7 on the road this season. They’re just 6-7 at home.

17

The Suns overcame 17 turnovers Sunday to beat the Eastern Conference’s second-best team on the road.

40

Led by 13 from Gerald Green, the Suns received 40 points from their bench players Sunday. Marcus Morris had 11 points and Isaiah Thomas added 10.

21.4

Phoenix limited the Wizards, the NBA’s best 3-point shooting team (39.1 percent on the season) to just 3-of-14 shooting (21.4 percent) from beyond the arc.

51.3

The Suns shot a healthy 51.3 percent from the field. Green was 5-of-7 from the floor, and Len was a perfect 3-for-3.
