Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Floyd, who sat out the team’s first two exhibition games with a groin injury, said he’ll make his preseason debut when the Cardinals host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

“I’m feeling good. I’ll be back this week,” said Floyd, who led the Cardinals in receiving yards last season. “My body’s feeling good.”

Floyd, a third-year WR out of Notre Dame, was the Cardinals’ first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. After a mediocre rookie season, he had a breakout 2013 with 1,041 receiving yards to go with 65 catches and five touchdown receptions.

Floyd said he expects to practice with the team on Wednesday.

“I would say preseason is all about getting the timing right, and if you’re not out there, that’s time that you lose getting (snaps) with the quarterback,” he said.

“It kind of sucks being on the sideline and watching things happen, and knowing you could be out there making plays and doing good things for your team. But I’m excited to get out there.”

In his absence, Floyd said second-year WR Jaron Brown had a “great performance” in the Cardinals’ 30-28 loss at Minnesota on Saturday. Brown caught two passes for 86 yards in that game. He had a combined 101 yards and a touchdown in Arizona’s first two preseason contests of 2014.

“He stepped in and made plays for us when we needed him, and that’s what you need, and we expect that out of him,” Floyd said. “(He’s a) great player, and he can only get better.”
