GLENDALE, Ariz. — There were no scuffles Monday, but there was a key injury. Darnell Dockett was carted off the field and, not surprisingly, that altered the day’s mood.

Of Note

– A late report came out saying Darnell Dockett suffered a torn ACL in his right knee. If so, his season is likely over.

– If Dockett is out for a while, expect Frostee Rucker to see significantly more action in his place. When asked if he’s confident he could step in and hold down the fort, he answered, “Absolutely.”

– Michael Floyd (groin), Justin Bethel (thigh), Teddy Williams (groin), Kevin Minter (pectoral), Jonathan Cooper (toe), Lyle Sendlein (calf), Max Starks (ankle), Bruce Gaston (knee), Lorenzo Alexander (unknown) did not practice; all are expected to return Wednesday with the exception of Starks, who coach Arians said will be out a week.

– Cooper did do some work once practice was over, and said his injured toe is feeling good.

– It was not a great day for the tight ends, as both Rob Housler and John Carlson dropped a pass.

– Walt Powell made a nice grab down the sideline on a ball dropped between the defenders.

– Safety Rashad Johnson picked off Drew Stanton during 11-on-11 work.

– Jay Feely won the battle of the kickers Monday, as he connected from 23, 29, 37, 43 and 45 yards out. Chandler Cantazaro, on the other hand, was good from 23, 29 and 37, but missed from 43.

– Linebacker John Abraham was dressed and on the field, but did not participate in any team drills.

Stat of the Day

Darnell Dockett became the first defensive lineman in franchise history to earn three Pro Bowl appearances when he did so in 2007, 2009 and 2010. Dockett was also a Pro Bowl alternate in 2008, 2011 and 2013.

Quotes of the Day

“He’s in the training room. He can’t do anything.” – Coach Bruce Arians on where Jonathan Cooper stands with regards to the left guard position

“I played against him for three of those years when I was in Seattle. He’s a beast. That’s all I’m going to say, he’s a beast. He’s a beast.” – Tight end John Carlson on Darnell Dockett missing just two games to injury in 10 NFL seasons
