GLENDALE — You always thought it would make a good movie, and now the story of Kurt Warner’s life will be.

The movie rights to Warner’s life have been acquired by 20th Century Fox, and according to reports, producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, who brought the Twilight series to the silver screen, will turn the quarterback’s story into Hollywood magic. The flick will be based upon Warner’s autobiography All Things Possible: My Story of Faith, Football and the Miracle Season.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Warner said Tuesday while attending Arizona Cardinals training camp at University of Phoenix Stadium. “I don’t know a lot about the movies, but I want to make a story that I think is truthful, is honest, has the integrity that me, my wife and our family have and that can impact people.

“So, if that takes me being heavily involved, I want to do that and I want to watch it play out.”

After getting cut from the Green Bay Packers in 1994, the path Warner took to NFL stardom was far from ordinary. He stocked grocery store shelves, played in the Arena Football League for three seasons and toiled as an NFL backup.

But when he got his chance, he thrived, leading two different franchises to the Super Bowl while winning the league’s MVP award twice.

Couple Warner’s storybook rise to the top of his profession, an uncommon love story with his wife, Brenda, and his family’s devout faith, and the movie should rank as one of the more uplifting sports stories ever told.

“Hopefully in the process, lots of people will see it and lots of people will be impacted that tomorrow can be better than today and that they can chase their dreams and accomplish things that they never thought they could,” he said.

OK, so who plays Warner in the movie?

“I don’t really think about that, but I tell people that as long as they’re good-looking and more talented than me, then I’m happy with that,” Warner said.
