The Arizona Cardinals have added another member to new head coach Bruce Arians' staff.

CBS NFL Insider Jason La Canfora tweeted the Cardinals and Todd Bowles reached an agreement on Saturday for him to take the reins as defensive coordinator.

Bowles was long-rumored to join Arians in Arizona after Ray Horton and the Cardinals parted ways.

He finished the season as the Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator in 2012 after Juan Castillo got fired midseason.

    Just like ole times
This whole search and hiring a new coach and staff reminds me so much of the great ole days of 3-13, 2-14, 4-12 teams. Each year we were treated to looking foward to the draft by week 7.and a new coach every 3 years. We replaced our coach with a guy who could not replace him in Pitts a puppet for a oc and now a dc whose team quit on him last year.I was a season ticket and a fan but no more. Do not want to relive those days with false promises and crappy drafts and coaching and a front office with no clue. Goodbye sellouts at U of Phx welcome blackouts on tv.

    Cant wait
Unlike most Cards fans who are still boo hooing about Horton, I'm looking forward to seeing what Bowles can do with a better defense. Philly's D was overrated and he didnt have good players there.

    Terrific
I am a Cards fan and I do not know it all BUT I can read......Under Bowles, the Eagles finished the season ninth in pass defense (while consistently giving up big plays) and twenty-third in rushing defense. The team sacked the opposing quarterback twenty times less than the 2011 season and generated only thirteen takeaways. Under Bowles Eagles gave up 350.6 yards per game and gave up an average of 31.9 points per game. Terrific can't wait

I am a Cardinals fan and I'm extremly disappointed in this hiring. The Eagles defense was almost as bad as our offense and we hire this guy to replace Horton. One step forward 10 backwards.

    Soon to be fan favorite...
If Bowles grows out his hair and get dreads the same as Horton & Fitz. Cause thats what really matters to some Cards "fans" around here.

Then he has to allow Brian Hartline to go for 250+ yards with a rookie QB, but get defended by every Cards fan that he was the savior. Welcome Todd Bowles, let's pick up where we left off...And for those hating on Bowles, he took over midway through the season and still had that D as 15th best in the league (we were only 12th)

    Well, Thai
It seems to me that Todd has some pretty big shoes to fill. His resume doesn't exactly scream out that he will do that superbly. Maybe he is the next Buddy Ryan. Or, maybe he is the next "you got a winner in town" Buddy Ryan. Only time will tell. Seems to me that the average fan has a right to wonder if this is a good move.

    Don't Forget
Didn't Bowles pretty much takeover a.dead team that had nothing to play for. How is he supposed to motivate a Defense who is probably not playing as a team but trying to audition for jobs elsewhere with selfish play. Bowles inherits a top D in Arizona that will be motivated assuming Arians solves the QB situation. Let's see what Bowles can do.
