Former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid may be close to landing another head coaching position.

According to Tim Ring, the sports director at KTVK-TV in Arizona's Twitter account, the Cardinals are 'very close' to hiring Reid as their new coach.

Other sources have reported Reid to be the frontrunner for the Cardinals' coaching vacancy.

Despite reports of the Cardinals interviewing Ray Horton for Ken Whisenhunt's former job on Tuesday, Ring tweeted he believes a deal with Reid is imminent.

Reid spent 14 years in Philadelphia before becoming a casualty of Black Monday, where a number of head coaches lost their jobs.

    Wow
I was hoping for Horton, but this is a big hire. Bidwell is not afraid to go big. I think this would be a great hire, especially if we can somehow keep Horton around. I guess keep Kolb and build the OL and fill some holes. We'll be back in the thick of things next year.

    Yes!
Although I don't agree with thr firing of coach Whiz & the GM, the hiring of Reid just might be what the team needs. And, as long he doesn't bring that dog-killer Michael Vick, then, he's welcome.

    Reid
I hated to see Whiz go but if this is true it's the right call. Also, as much as I like Horton I believe Reid is the better candidate for the head coaching job at this point in time. Hopefully they can also figure out a way to keep Horton. Reid will definitely bring out the best in Kolb and the offensive side of the game.

A way to keep Horton and hire Reid
They could promote Horton to Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator the same title that Grimm has had here before, they could also bump his pay to go with the Asst HC title and that should keep him here.

I cant hate but keep Horton
Reid is a QB coach and thats exactly what we need. If Bidwill can manage to keep Horton in his DC role for more money and make him Assistant HC then we will be a very well coached team you guys!

    If Reid
does become the HC of the Cardinals, I hope the Bidwill nay sayers will finaly shut. Especially you 620 guys. It was interesting this year, many of the 620 personal were afraid to say anything negative about Whisenhunt in fear of not getting an interview, but they were sure eager to blame the Bidwills for everything that went wrong with the team.

    Baby Bidwill
Baby Bidwill is throwing his weight aroudn like he actually knows something. He doesn't. Firing Wisenhunt was the WRONG thing to do. But Wisenhunt wanted all the power he had in decision making and the owner (Baby Bidwill) said no. This is business, not sports and as long as there are event going suckers... the Bidwills will be fine.

    Bidwill
Nobody can say that the Bidwills are cheap anymore. Michael has turned the Cardinals around 100%. He is locking in key players and has the no matter what it takes attitude. Everyone said he wouldn't take the 5 million loss on Whiz either, but he did. I like Whiz and hated to see him go but sometimes you have to give in just a bit.
