The Arizona Cardinals' winning streak has come to an end with a resounding thud. Right off the bat, it didn't look good as the St. Louis Rams marched down the field for a touchdown on the opening drive of the game.

After the opening series, the Cardinals defense managed to settle down and forced the Rams quarterback Sam Bradford to throw 12 straight incompletions.

The Cardinals had a handful of chances late in the game to set up a comeback they always seem to pull off. But, dropped passes and a lack of run offense killed any momentum the Cardinals had.

"We didn't make plays in the first half that could've changed that game. We gave up two big plays defensively, which is tough, but offensively we had a lot of dropped balls tonight," said Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt. "Missed throws, dropped balls, we didn't protect well, we didn't run it well and with all that being said we still had a change at the end of the game to get back in it."

The Rams defense held the Cardinals to only a field goal and tore through the Cardinals offensive line to bring down quarterback Kevin Kolb a total of nine times.

"It's always easy to say ‘you had this many sacks up front,' but you've got to look at some of the other factors that contribute," said Whisenhunt. "If we make a play or two that can takes the pressure off the line we're able to do some different things and we didn't get that done. So we've got to look at what we've got to do better."

This marked the first time this season the Cardinals failed to put at least 20 points on the board. It's also the second straight game Kolb has been sacked at least eight times.

"This is two games we haven't done as good a job as the first three. But, we've got a bunch of guys that will work hard and we'll get back to it," said Whisenhunt. "I'm not going to lose sight that we're 4-1. We're a good football team, we just didn't play as well as we can tonight and that's what we've got to get corrected."

Whisenhunt went on to say that he's going to use the extra days off to get to make these corrections and get his team healthy for their next game against the Buffalo Bills.

"We've got a chance to get couple of days to get healthier and get back and get focused and that's what we'll do," said Whisenhunt."No matter what else happens we're in first place so we'll keep working."

    Not ready for Primetime!
The Cardinals layed another egg in another National televised game. Any respect for being 4-0, which there wasnt much, was sacked in this game. They continue to be a laughing stock around the league with the performance or lack thereof last night. As a Cards fan, I was embarrassed with what I witnessed!

Mike Miller Is Not The Man For Us
His Play Calling Has Failed Us Way Too Often. Marty Took Him To School Last Night. We Had 50 Pass Plays 50. Sacked 9 Times Is A Lot But That's 41 opportunities To Do Something. Do It For Crying Out Loud. Kolb Is All Premeditated Once He Gets To Line He Knows Where He's Going His Best Moments Come From Broken Plays Where He Scrambles And Finds Somebody. He Needs To Learn How To Go Through His Progressions. I Still Can't Believe He Didnt Even Look At Fitz When He Was 1 on 1 vs A Rookie And He Ended Up Wide Open In The End Zone. Wheres Skelly? You Earned Your 21 Mill Kolb I'm Done!

    Laughing stock? Seriously?
Give me a break. Good grief, Cardinals fans are such a bunch of chicken littles at times. The Cards are 4-1, and have beaten Philly and NE. No one's laughing at them now after one bad game other than fans of other teams just waiting and hoping for the Cards to slip up. No one should be wailing and gnashing their teeth after one setback, show some confidence in the team that got us to 4-0 in the first place.

    Seriously!
You apparently dont watch any ESPN or any other talking head sports shows so let me fill you in on the National concensus. The Cards had little or no respect before their National TV debacle and and even less now. They've given up 17 SACKS in 5 days! Yes they are a laughing stock of the league. Sorry!

    Kolb played tough.....
I might be one of the few that thought kolb played pretty good considering the pressure that was put on him. Yea he missed a couple of throws that I'm sure he wanted back but he did have the offense moving the ball. With that being said (our bread & butter)the D has not played aggressive as they should be (including dolphins game) where's the pressure..sacks..fumbles..int? Put your offense in good field possession..short field to work with. Help the offense. That punter from St Louis could very will of been the MVP of the game.

Yea, but quit ingnoring they are the main reason
why the offense struggles. Games are won and lost in the trenches. When you are last in the NFL at protecting and run blocking, what does that tell you? It tells me, that they cant run the ball and they cant pass protect. If your worst in the NFL at run blocking and pass protecting, how else are you going to move the ball??? The only way to move the ball is by ground or air. And if your line is last in both categories your not doing something right. You havent been doing something right for the last decade. Accept the fact your line sucks and move on.

    Keep the faith
Every good team first must pass through a cauldron of adversity. The good ones come out only scathed, the great ones come out the better for it. Time will tell with the Cards.

    TheNewOriginal -> Typical Card Fan
Hey TNO (and other bandwagon fans), You should be happy that you're 4-1. Yes, you do have issues but the way you whine, you sound like your team is 1-4. The O-line has been and will be an issue all year long. But they also need to establish a decent running game at the least because as long as they don't have one, every team will know that every offensive play will be a passing one. Mix it up somehow or find someone to make the plays on the line and at RB. In the meantime, quit whining and back your team or you'll miss your spot on the bandwagon like usual.

Tony S. - Not a Realistic Cards fan
Not Whinning, just telling you how it is. The first three games of the season the Cards were decent in all phases of the game. They struggled against lowly Miami giving up 8 sacks and now the Rams giving up another 9 sacks and struggling in all phases. You say run the ball. They cant! Especially not between the tackles which they continue and fail everytime. Why not try a screen pass or a sweep. Get creative in the game calling for once. Sorry but Im a Phx Native and bleed Purple & orange and Cardinal Red. Not a bandwagon fan just a realist!
