Gambo vs. Curt Schilling

The 2001 World Series will go down as one of the best moments in the history of Arizona.
And, conversely, one of the worst moments in the household of one John Gambadoro.
Gambadoro, who you may know as “Gambo” from Arizona Sports 620’s Burns and Gambo, is very much a New York Yankees fan. So, the fact that the D-backs rallied to knock off the Yankees in seven games undoubtedly struck a nerve.
And, 12 years later, it apparently still stings.
Curt Schilling, who was a member of that D-backs team, sent out what seemed like a pretty innocuous tweet. The response from Gambo, though, told a different story.
youtube.com/watch?v=Z-hbjI… Just watched this game again, first time in 12 years, wow. Forget how great that Yanks club was

@gehrig38 You guys got lucky.
— John Gambadoro (@Gambo620) April 22, 2013
@gambo620 keep telling yourself that.
— Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) April 22, 2013
@gehrig38 Cheated in Game 6 stealing all those signs. So much for sportsmanship….
— John Gambadoro (@Gambo620) April 22, 2013
@gambo620 Cheated? Against the cheater? Really? He tipped, we didn’t steal squat. Oh wait, 6 and 7 were started by cheaters 4 them right?
— Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) April 22, 2013
@gehrig38 Lets not forget the guy who led your team in RBI’s in that WS was also a CHEATER
— John Gambadoro (@Gambo620) April 22, 2013
@gambo620 Really? Says you? But awesome how you deflected that one, well done, it’s all you have to go on.

@gehrig38 Hey I’m aloud to still be bitter over the loss, I’m fan it still sucks. Hope all is well you should come on soon
— John Gambadoro (@Gambo620) April 22, 2013
@gambo620 That’s your source? Really? Seriously?
— Curt Schilling (@gehrig38) April 22, 2013
Then, some fans got involved.
@gambo620 So you’re still bitter, huh?
— Rhys Withenshaw (@Rev_RWithenshaw) April 22, 2013

We may not be the official scorekeeper in this one, but it appears this round has gone to the former D-back. Well, this round and the 2001 World Series, of course. Sorry Gambo.
