Phoenix Mercury forward DeWanna Bonner was named the WNBA's
Western Conference Player of the Week Monday after averaging
20.7 points and 10.7 rebounds in three contests.
Bonner's production comes at a good time for the Mercury (2- 4), as they are playing without forward Penny Taylor, who is out for the year with a knee injury and guard Diana Taurasi, who has a strained hip flexor.
The Mercury went 1-2 for the week and are off until Friday when they visit the Los Angeles Sparks at Staples Center.
