Grant Hill announces his retirement on TNT
He no longer holds that distinction as the 19-year veteran announced his retirement on TNT during the telecast of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals between Miami and Indiana.
"I'm glad to say I'm done," Hill announced. "I'm officially retired. I'm moving on from playing -- I had a great run."
Hill was drafted third overall in 1994 by the Detroit Pistons, where he'd spend the first six years of his career. In 2000, he was dealt to the Orlando Magic, where he was plagued with injuries over the next six seasons.
The former Duke superstar then signed with the Phoenix Suns in 2007, and remained healthy for the majority of his time in the desert. Hill was a main cog in the Suns' push to the Western Conference Finals in 2010.
He signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Clippers before the 2012-13 season, and was limited to just 29 games.
Hill was a seven-time All-Star.
