Arizona crushes Colorado in Boulder: By The Numbers

Arizona kept cruising Thursday in Colorado, winning their fifth straight and scoring in the 80s for the fourth time in that span.
Four of coach Sean Miller’s five starters scored in double digits in the contest, helping the Wildcats to a 13-point lead by halftime.
Arizona enjoyed accurate shooting, whether from the field, beyond the arch or at the line, while Colorado was struck with just the opposite. The Wildcats, now 25-3 (13-2), also enjoyed the right end of a lopsided rebounds disparity, collecting 13 more boards than their opponent Thursday.
Gabe York, meanwhile, made another noteworthy contribution off the bench, scoring 14 points to complement three assists and five rebounds in 23 minutes.
The contest looks to be a nice warmup for Miller’s squad as they prepare for an impending Pac-12 showdown versus Utah in Salt Lake City. Just three games remain in the regular season for the Wildcats, whose resume has them vying for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament once again.
Here’s a look at the Wildcats’ dominance, by the numbers?
1
Just one Buffaloes player — Askia Booker — hit double digits in scoring Thursday. Booker scored 14 points on 5-of-16 shooting, adding three rebounds to his effort.
5
The Wildcats hit half of their 10 three-point attempts Thursday, handily outpacing their opponents from beyond the arch. The Buffaloes were just 2-of-9 on their three-point attempts.
8
One of the only areas that the Buffaloes managed to outperform the Wildcats in was in shot-blocking. Colorado recorded eight blocks Thursday, besting the Wildcats’ three.
12
York put together his 12th double-digit scoring effort off the bench Thursday, sinking 4-of-6 field goal attempts and 4-of-5 free throws.
15
Phenom forward Stanley Johnson led the Wildcats in scoring with 15 points, but fell short of his last performance against Colorado, when he scored 22 points and pulled in eight rebounds against the Buffaloes in Tucson last month.
50
Arizona’s 50 percent shooting from three-point land is their second best beyond-the-arch shooting performance of the season, second only to their 10-of-17 effort against Gardner-Webb in early December.
52.9
Arizona’s general shooting performance, too, stood out, as the team hit 52.9 percent (27-of-51) of their shots from the field.
92
Like their effort from beyond the arch, the Wildcats had their best collective performance from the charity stripe all season Thursday, knocking down 23 of 25 attempts (92 percent). Arizona has hit more free throws in four games this season, but was never before as accurate as they were against Colorado in Boulder.
