The Arizona State Sun Devils have added one of college basketball’s premier programs to their schedule.
According to CBSSports.com’s Jon Rothstein, the Sun Devils will take on the Kentucky Wildcats on Dec. 12 in Rupp Arena, with a second matchup coming in 2016 in the Bahamas at the Atlantis Resort.
While not the type of school you normally see on ASU’s schedule, it’s a sign new coach Bobby Hurley wants to increase the level of competition for his team. The Sun Devils return four starters from last year’s team, and figure to be very competitive this season.
Kentucky, meanwhile, reached the Final Four last year but lost seven members of its team to the NBA. They still return a very talented roster and are bringing in one of the top recruiting classes in the nation, so they should be in pretty good shape, too.
