No. 6 UA at ASU: Wildcats look to maintain momentum vs. ‘much improved’ Sun Devils

It’s a moment etched into the memory of every Arizona State fan: Jahii Carson’s last-second dunk that added the exclamation point to the Sun Devils’ 69-66 double-overtime home win over then-No. 2 Arizona on Valentine’s Day last year.
While it’s a memory ASU’s players and coaches still cherish — and one that UA’s personnel would prefer to forget — both sides understand that neither that game, nor Arizona’s blowout victory over ASU at McKale Center last month, will be relevant when the Sun Devils and No. 6 Wildcats tip off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena.
“That’s something that we’ll always treasure and remember what a great game that was, but come Saturday afternoon we’re not going to be thinking about that game, let alone the one we lost earlier in Tucson this year,” said ASU coach Herb Sendek.
