Arizona State bounced back from a loss to Lehigh earlier this week with a decisive 93-54 victory over Detroit.

Forward Savon Goodman had his second double-double in a row, hitting 8-of-12 attempts for 22 points and grabbing 11 boards. He also had three steals, two assists and only turned the ball over once in his first start as a Sun Devil.

Shaquielle McKissic also poured in 14 points of his own, making 6-of-8 attempts. He led the Sun Devils with three steals and contributed four rebounds.

Arizona State’s runaway win brings the team to 7-5 (7-1 at home). They’ll face Harvard (7-2) next on Dec. 28 in Tempe.

What did the victory look like, by the numbers?

19-6

Goodman had 19 points and six rebounds at the half on his way to his second consecutive double-double (24 points, 12 rebounds on 9-of-11 shooting against Lehigh).

16-21

The Sun Devils have struggled often from the line this season. They showed promise in the first half, hitting 16-of-21 free throws, but fell back into their old ways, hitting just 67 percent — their season mark — from the charity stripe.

43-34

ASU outrebounded Detroit 43-34, 19-13 in the first half.

9

The Sun Devils held Detroit leading scorer Juwan Howard Jr. to just two points on 1-of-10 shooting in the first half and just nine points total. Howard entered the game averaging 19.8 points per game.

30

Arizona State held the Titans to just 30 percent shooting from the field — their second-lowest opponent shooting percentage of the season (Loyola Marymount shot 28.1 percent).

50-23

The Sun Devils outscored Detroit in the paint 50-23.

39:19

ASU led Detroit for 39:19 of the game. The Titans did not lead once.

39

The 39-point victory is the Sun Devils’ largest this season (they won by 36 in the season opener against Chicago State), and is tied for the fourth-largest win under Herb Sendek.
