ESPN.com: Best win for Anu Solomon is his win at Oregon

Any win will feel like a signature win for a redshirt freshman, but Anu Solomon is one of the exceptions with a Pac-12 south title and a big road win.
ESPN’s David Lombardi compiled a list of the “best wins” for the Pac-12 south quarterbacks. The game selected for Solomon was his October win at Oregon.
A season after the Wildcats dismantled the Ducks, 42-16, the college football world expected Oregon to administer payback at home. After all, Ka’Deem Carey was no longer around, and Rich Rodriguez was trotting the redshirt freshman Solomon into the notoriously sharp teeth of Autzen Stadium. Even after Arizona stunned the crowd into silence when they took a 24-14 late third-quarter lead, there was a feeling that the Ducks would dig in and stop the nonsense. But Solomon wouldn’t let them — even after Oregon tied the score at 24 in the fourth quarter. The young quarterback responded by leading Arizona on a 15-play, 71-yard dagger of a drive that ignited the Wildcats’ Pac-12 South title run. This was a “coming of age” performance at its best.
Solomon’s signature win of last season could be the signature win of his career. Oregon had not lost at home since 2012 and were once again seen as the powerhouse in the Pac-12.
The Wildcats had gotten off to a 4-0 start to the season heading into the game at Eugene, but none of those opponents could prepare them for Oregon.
That wouldn’t matter to Arizona, as their 31-24 win is a highlight of the program and a lot of it was due to Solomon.
Solomon’s stats were solid with 287 yards and one touchdown. However, none of those stats would matter if he didn’t convert on his potential game-winning drive.
The game was tied in the fourth quarter after an Oregon comeback and the game was in the hands of the redshirt freshman. Solomon showed poise and would lead his team down the field for the eventual game-winning touchdown on a run by Terris Jones-Grigsby.
Oregon would get their revenge in the Pac-12 championship game, blowing out the Wildcats 51-13 in their December rematch.
Arizona does not play Oregon this season.
