Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright brought home the hardware during his 2014 campaign, so it comes as no surprise the Wildcat is garnering attention heading into his junior season.
Wright ranks fourth on the Big Lead’s list of the top 50 football players in the country for 2015.
4. Scooby Wright [LB – Arizona] Led the nation in tackles (163) and TFL (29). He was a mere third in sacks (14). Not bad for a two-star recruit.
The brief list of players ahead of Wright begins with Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa, and continues with Alabama defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson and Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott.
After Wright, no Pac-12 player appears again until UCLA linebacker/running back Myles Jack, who ranks No. 22 on this list.
Wright, the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, made NFL.com’s list of scariest players and in 2014 also won the Bednarik, Nagurski and Lombardi awards.
