The Arizona Wildcats were able to eke out a home victory over the solid-but-unranked Washington Huskies on Saturday, and Rich Rodriguez’s group was rewarded in two national polls the following day.

The Wildcats ascended slightly in the AP Top 25 poll, going from 17th last week to 15th on Sunday.

They made the biggest jump in the Amway Coaches Poll, going up five spots to No. 13. That’s actually one spot ahead of in-state rival Arizona State, which UA will face in two weeks.

Arizona (8-2, 5-2) was ranked 14th in the College Football Playoff rankings prior to Saturday’s win, but the program won’t find out its new placement until Tuesday.

The Wildcats still have a shot at the Pac-12 South crown, as they are just a half-game behind USC and tied with ASU and UCLA in the divisional standings.

UA will next face Utah (7-3, 4-3) on the road on Saturday, Nov. 22. The Utes were ranked 23rd in the College Football Playoff poll prior to their 20-17 win at Stanford on Saturday.
