The Arizona State Sun Devils did not move up or down in the College Football Playoff rankings, instead staying at No. 13 following a 52-31 home win over Washington State.
ASU, which is 9-2 (6-2 in the Pac-12) will face off against No. 11 Arizona (9-2, 6-2) Friday in Tucson.
For the first time ever, there will be a four-team playoff to determine college football’s national champion. The rankings are determined by a 12-member committee comprised of athletic directors (Jeff Long, Barry Alvarez, Pat Haden, Oliver Luck and Dan Radakovich), former coaches (Tyrone Willingham and Tom Osborne), a former conference commissioner (Mike Tranghese), a former reporter (Steve Weiberg) and other heads of state and administrators (Michael C. Gould, Tom Jernstedt and Condoleezza Rice).
