As expected, Arizona Coyotes general manager Don Maloney was a busy man at the NHL trade deadline.

The architect of a team near the bottom of the league, it made sense for Maloney to unload veteran talent near the ends of their contracts in exchange for young prospects.

Last week, Maloney dealt center Antoine Vermette to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for 23-year-old Swedish defenseman Klas Dahlbeck.

Sunday, defenseman Keith Yandle was shipped off to the New York Rangers for winger Anthony Duclair and defenseman John Moore.

And Monday, Zbynek Michalek was sent to St. Louis with the Coyotes getting center Maxim Letunov.

Arizona also nabbed three picks (two first-rounders) in the next two drafts.

By all accounts, the Coyotes were considered winners at the deadline. Here’s what some experts from around North America had to say about what Maloney pulled. (Click writer’s name to read entire article)
