The MLB trade deadline is on July 31, which means rumors are starting to fly around.
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported Monday that teams have called to get a feel on some of the Diamondbacks’ players.
The Padres talked to the Diamondbacks in spring training about a trade for outfielder Ender Inciarte and second baseman Aaron Hill and recently inquired again on Inciarte, according to major-league sources.
Clubs also are asking the D-backs about David Peralta, but the front office is not inclined to move either outfielder, sources say. Both Inciarte and Peralta are under club control through 2020.
Trading either Peralta or Inciarte would seem unlikely. Both players are regular contributors to the D-backs line-up and are under very team-friendly deals.
Hill is a player Arizona has reportedly been trying to deal for awhile, but have failed to do so due to his declining play and high contract number.
The second baseman is hitting .220 with four home runs and 23 RBI, and is owed another $12 million next year.
Arizona sits at 42-48 and was 6.5 games out of the second wild card spot entering play on Monday.
