On Thursday, the Baseball Writer's Association of America announced its final vote tally for the National League Most Valuable Player award, handing honors to the Pittsburgh Pirates' Andrew McCutchen. Arizona Diamondbacks' first baseman Paul Goldschmidt finished second.

In the wake of the announcement, Twitter sounded off, pointing out that Goldschmidt received zero first-place votes and finished as low as sixth on two ballots.
