PHOENIX -- Former Arizona Diamondbacks television analyst Mark Grace was sentenced to four months in jail after pleading guilty Thursday to felony endangerment and misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol.

A Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman said Grace will be allowed out of jail for work while he serves the sentence beginning Feb. 10.

Court spokesman Vincent Funari says the sentence also includes two years of probation.

"A really poor decision on my part has landed myself in a lot of trouble, my family in a lot of trouble," Grace said. "And nobody feels worse about it than I do, nobody feels worse about it than my children do.

"One thing I've always taught my children is to be accountable, and now it's time for dad to be accountable."

The 48-year-old former first baseman with the Diamondbacks and the Chicago Cubs was fired after he was arrested last August in Scottsdale -- his second drunken driving arrest in 15 months.

Grace had pleaded not guilty in October to four felony counts of aggravated DUI and was scheduled to go on trial March 19.

    I expect
This will be a life altering event for Mark. I hope so. I have always found him to be entertaining, both on and off the field. I wish him well.

    Good luck
You can tell more of a man by how he acts when he messes up, than how he acts when he does good.

    Work?
The article mentions he will get time out of jail to work - anyone know what he's "working" at?

based on my experience with 'friends' in jail
a person can get work release from the county jail, even if it is to 'look' for work. Since Grace got fired he probably will have some friend with a business offer him a position just to be released each work day. Since he is a 'high profile person' he will probably be seperated form general population. So I've heard.

It seems that Money makes the world go around!
The wealthy get leniency and the rest of the population get hard time. Mark almost bought his way out of serving any time. I know people who basically committed the same offense as Mark but they were not given a plea bargain and work release instead it was 3 to 4 years in prison and 5 years probation. Having the means to pay for the best lawyers money can by really pays off. However, in the end Mark could have avoided this whole mess if he had not been too cheap to pay for for a Cab!

    Mark Grace DUI Jail Sentence
Mark is a fake nice guy! Anyone that really knows him, knows he cares only about himself. Ask him how many married women he has slept with in his life. ask him how many problems he created for familys because he has no morals and cares only about himself. He should have been in jail for 3 years.
