The Arizona Diamondbacks are still listening to offers for right-fielder Justin Upton.

According to FOXSports.com writer Ken Rosenthal, the D-backs and Padres were talking about an Upton for Chase Headley swap but those discussions have not advanced.

Rosenthal reported the two teams were talking about a potential trade involving both players since July.

The D-backs are still looking to find a suitor for Upton and have talked with others teams, including the Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners. The Mariners are on Upton's no-trade list, which could complicate a deal with Seattle. The Atlanta Braves have also expressed strong interest in obtaining Upton.

Arizona is still entertaining offers for left-fielder Jason Kubel but with Upton's reasonable contract and high upside he could net a far larger package in return.

Headley hit .286 with 31 home runs and an NL-best 115 RBI. He finished fifth in the NL MVP voting in 2012.

Upton batted .280 with 17 longballs and and 67 RBI for the D-backs.

    However...
it is also being reported that the Rangers would include Mike Olt and a top pitching prospect. I'd take that for Kubel.

I prefer to get rid of Parra or Eaton
I don't think Parra is a good fit and Eaton is not yet ready for prime time and can only hit little squibbers that he has to beat out...If it's these guys are out there this year, the opposing teams only need to play up on the infield grass to shut those guys down. Chase Field is a hitters park, don't weaken the lineup...just an opinion..I think the front office does a good job really.

You don't trade a player of Upton's caliber to a division rival that you see 25 times a year!

    Trade not happening
J-UP IS NOT GOING anywhere!!!!!!! He has way too much upside at this point, and Kevin Towers knows that!

    Upside and on the cheap
Look at what the great Outfielders are making and compare to Upton he has great value, if they do move him better be getting the farm and the beachhouse.

    I wonder..
If the Diamondbacks offered Miami Upton, Parra , and a few prospects for Giancarlo Stanton if they would bite. I would absolutely love to see him in a Dbacks uniform!

    Yo guyinaz
Are you serious? Headley has been the consistent player between the 2. We've needed a 3rd baseman & he provides this as he is a RBI guy too. You move Parra to RF & you already have a better defender out there. You've upgraded 3rd base & RF defensively. This team is missing a RBI guy where J-Up does not provide this. Why the heck not? Headley would be a great addition to our team & get to play in a hitter friendly ballpark. His numbers were solid & he played at a pitcher friendly ballpark in San Diego.
