The Arizona Diamondbacks were looking to add another veteran bat, and Arizona Sports 620's John Gambadoro was first to report they've landed Eric Chavez.

Chavez, 34, was with the New York Yankees last season and hit .281 with 16 home runs and 37 RBI in 278 at bats. He bats left-handed, which makes him a good compliment to the right-handed Johnson.

Chavez began his career with the Oakland A's, where he became one of the game's better third baseman. He's a career .267 hitter with 248 home runs and 850 RBI.

IM STARTING TO SEE WHAT TOWERS IS ALL ABOUT
With all these well beyond primetime signings thats all he has produced since landing the job outside of landing Aaron Hill in that Kelly Johnson trade with Toronto. He has not came close to landing a young stud in their prime but has brought a bunch of minor leaguers slash bench players in the bigs, and yet we are in talks to trade a budding superstar in Justin Upton for what? How abouit put all resources into developing and getting all out of Upton. His potential is Unmatched in the League
