Rumor: Phoenix Suns expected to show interest in former Arizona Wildcat Derrick Williams

Derrick Williams parlayed a two-year stint at the University of Arizona into being the second overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
It’s been a bit of a struggle since then.
Williams, who averaged 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore for the Wildcats, has averaged just 9.3 points and 4.3 rebounds over four seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings.
The 6-foot-8, 240-pound forward averaged 8.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game last season, and will explore the free agent market this summer. It appears the Phoenix Suns may have some interest.

Williams, 24, has shown flashes of ability, pouring in a career-best 12 points and 5.5 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game for the T’Wolves in 2012-13, but has come nowhere close to the expectations placed upon him when he entered the league.
