A Phoenix Son: A look back a Steve Nash’s most memorable Suns playoff moments

One of the most iconic faces of the Phoenix sports landscape officially called it a career Saturday, as former Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash announced his retirement from the NBA. Nash, 41, was selected by the Suns with the 15th overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. However, Nash spent only two seasons in Phoenix before being traded to Dallas prior to the start of the 1998-99 season.
After a six-year stint with Mavericks, Nash returned to Phoenix as a free agent in 2004, taking home back-to-back MVP awards and leading the Suns to heights they hadn’t reached since the days of K.J., Thunder Dan and Sir Charles in the early 1990s.
Though Nash would complete his career in Los Angeles after he was traded to the Lakers for a host of future draft picks in 2012, the Canadian national will always hold a special place in the annals of Phoenix professional sports.
