Although it appeared early on the Phoenix Suns might be the first team to lose to the woeful and winless Philadelphia 76ers, the Suns eventually took care of business with a 122-96 win.

The now 0-12 76ers started strong, scoring 27 points in the opening quarter, good enough for a one-point lead. However, Philadelphia showed why they still sport a goose egg in the win column in the following quarter.

The Suns outscored the 76ers by 24 in the second stanza and by three in the second half to secure the 26-point victory, Phoenix’s third win in a row.

Isaiah Thomas led the way for the Suns, scoring 23 points, dishing out eight assists and grabbing three rebounds. Eight Suns in total scored in the double digits.

Phoenix improved to 8-5 on the season and 3-1 through the first four games of a six-game road trip.

Here’s a look at Friday’s blow out by the numbers:

1

In a game with 218 combined points, it may be surprising to find out that not much defense was played. The two teams combined for just one block in the game. Sixers forward Brandon Davies had the lone block.

11:21

Miles Plumlee struggled a bit on Friday, playing the fewest minutes of any starter (11:21) and third fewest of any Sun. He was also the only Phoenix starter with a negitive plus/minus (-13). Plumlee scored two points and grabbed five boards.

13

All 13 dressed Suns saw at least 10:33 of game action against the 76ers. It was an active night for the Suns bench, as the game was out of reach in the second half.

41

Phoenix’s best scoring quarter of the season came in the second stanza of Friday’s game. The Suns scored 41 points to open up a 23-point halftime lead.

44

Isaiah Thomas went 9-for-9 from the charity stripe to extend his free throw streak to 44. He had a free throw streak of 46 during the 2012-13 season as a member of the Sacramento Kings.

67

Led in no small part by that great second quarter, Phoenix put up a whopping 67 points in the first half — their most points in the first two quarters of any game this season. It was the second time on this road trip the Suns cracked the 60-point barrier in the opening half, as they dropped 60 on the Boston Celtics on Monday.

68

Bench scoring helped the Suns pull away from Philadelphia as the the group combined to score 68 points. Thomas led the way with 23, while Gerald Green, Archie Goodwin and Anthony Tolliver each scored 11.

122

The Suns set a new season high for points in a game with 122 on Friday. It is the first time this season Phoenix cracked the 120-point plateau. Their previous season high came in the season opener when the Suns dropped 119 on the Los Angeles Lakers.
