That’s more like it.
Just a few days removed from a poor performance — six points on 3-of-10 shooting to go along with four turnovers — in an exhibition against Team USA, Phoenix Suns point guard Goran Dragic rebounded with an impressive night in Team Slovenia’s opening contest of the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
Paced by Dragic’s team-high 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists, the Slovenians topped Australia 90-80 to kick off Group D play Saturday.
Dragic was particularly sharp from the field, knocking down eight of his 12 shots attempts, including 3-of-5 from three-point range.
‘The Dragon’ also did a nice job at the defensive end, holding NBA talents Dante Exum and Matthew Dellavedova to three combined points.
Next up for the reigning All-NBA Third-Teamer is a date with Mexico on Sunday.
