The first hurdle has been passed.
Free agency got underway at 9:01 p.m. Phoenix time Monday night, and soon after, word leaked that the Phoenix Suns have scheduled a meeting with LeBron James' agent, Rich Paul.
Boston Globe NBA writer Gary Washburn broke the news on Twitter.
Teams interested in LeBron James will meet w agent Rich Paul this week in Cleveland, according to NBA source. James will not attend meetings— gary washburn (@GwashburnGlobe) July 1, 2014
This comes on the heels of Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reporting Sunday that GM Ryan McDonough and the Suns will effort to bring both James and New York Knicks free agent forward Carmelo Anthony to the Valley as a package deal.
