Lindsey Hunter, who coached the Phoenix Suns on an interim basis for the final 41 games of the 2012-13 season, is back in the NBA.

Hunter has been added to head coach Mark Jackson’s coaching staff with the Golden State Warriors, joining Pete Myers, Darren Erman, Brian Scalabrine and Jerry DeGregorio as assistant coaches.

Hunter took over for the fired Alvin Gentry and coached the Suns to a 12-29 mark in his time on the bench. He interviewed for the permanent head coaching position with new general manager Ryan McDonough, who ultimately hired Jeff Hornacek for the job.

Hunter played 17 years in the NBA with Detroit, Milwaukee, the L.A. Lakers, Toronto and Chicago. His career ended in 2004.
