After trading a second round draft pick to the Houston Rockets for forward Marcus Morris Wednesday night, the Phoenix Suns needed to make a roster move to clear a spot for the new player.

According to Arizona Sports 620's John Gambadoro, the team has made that move.

Zeller, a 6-foot-11 rookie out of Notre Dame, played sparingly this season for the Suns, appearing in only 16 games while averaging 1.2 points and 0.6 rebounds per game.

Zeller hadn't seen minutes since a loss in Oklahoma City February 10.

I'm just glad they didn't release O'neal instead, as rumored on some sites. I think O'neal has been fairly productive for the Suns this season. There has got to be a contender out there willing to give the Suns a 2nd round pick for him. Or, maybe they package him and a 2nd round pick for a late 1st round pick.

They should have played him more
How would the Suns know if he could have been productive or not without playing the man... That is the one guy that should NOT have left.

If Zeller got sent down to the D-League he would still be included on the Suns roster on the inactive list because he was originally payed a NBA salary.
