Tuesday afternoon, ESPN NBA insider Chris Broussard reported that the Phoenix Suns were likely out of the mix on Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith.

But all is not quiet on the trade front.

According to Broussard, the Suns might actually be sellers before Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

O'Neal signed a one-year deal with Phoenix in August and has been a pleasant surprise in 2012-13. In 38 games, the 17-year veteran has averaged 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game off the bench.

The addition of O'Neal makes sense for a veteran-laden team like the Knicks, as does the idea of Telfair moving up north.

Earlier this month, the Raptors sent point guard Jose Calderon to the Detroit Pistons in a three-team deal that netted them Rudy Gay.

Telfair, now in his second season with the Suns, has seen his minutes drastically decrease since interim head coach Lindsey Hunter took over back in January. The eight-year pro has played in just six of the team's last 13 games.

    Suns
2nd round picks or expiring contracts maybe very late draft picks for Telfair or O'neal at best.

    Do it
2nd round picks may as well. Especially for Oneal - he continues to play well (9pts, 13rbs in 19 minutes last night!) and could actually hurt our draft standing if he stays

    Suns Trade
Oneil is on a one year deal and I think Telfair is as well. The only reason the Suns trade them is for draft picks.

    Stockpile those draftpicks
If Suns can get a 2nd rounder a piece for these guys, do it. Those picks can be packaged to move up in the draft or may help acquire a better player down the road,

    Make the Trade
The Suns took a bit of a flyer on O'Neal and he's exceeded expectations in an otherwise forgettable season for the team. I say repay his solid performances and send him to a team with a chance to go all the way this year and stock up those draft picks.

    Right
With this frong office they will likely trade a first round pick and JO for a 2nd round pick and an overpaid scrub.
