As Steve Nash makes his return to the Valley, many people will wonder if the Suns were right to let him go in the first place.

After all, the Suns are a paltry 15-30 on the season, fired their head coach, and generally seem to be heading in the wrong direction.

However, the man signed to replace Nash was Goran Dragic, and the 26-year-old has put together a decent year for the team, averaging career bests in points, rebounds and assists. Is he Nash? No. But then again, maybe the Suns are better off that way.

Who would you rather have at PG for the Phoenix Suns?
Goran Dragic
Steve Nash
Because when you look at it, Nash's first season with the Lakers has been nothing more than a disappointment. The 38-year-old is averaging the fewest number of points since his fourth year in the league, his assist total is lower than it has been in nearly a decade. Furthermore the Lakers, thought by many to be the favorite to win the NBA title, also fired their coach and are currently 20-25. If the playoffs started today, they would be watching them on TV.

So who got the better end of this situation?

    Don't forget
Nash's injury woes would have been the Suns' injury woes had he stuck around. It sounds absurd to say out loud, but the Suns are better off with Dragic. As bad as the FO is, they got it right with cutting loose Nash and Amare when they did. It's the re-loading after losing those guys that they have stumbled at. Hopefully the the Lakers first round picks the Suns received will land some cornerstone players in the draft.

    Joke
This article is a joke. I would not even put Dragic in the same league as Nash STILL. Of course Nash is going to be averaging less points - we dont have any form of scoring threat. Steve is still shooting at a much better percentage and averaging a few more assists. Yes - people will vote for Dragic because they think Steve is a traitor. Maybe we are better off in the future, but today it is just comical to claim it

    You get paid
to write this? A fractured fibula and half of the games Dragic has played and you come up with this. Are the Suns better off without him. Yes. It is time to rebuild. Is Dragic better? Please. That question reminds me of something having to do with smelling and athletic supporters.
