Burns & Gambo did not go easy on the owner of the Phoenix Suns. Sarver was asked (and he answered) all the burning questions surrounding the controversial hiring & firing at the head coach position.
The Phoenix Suns are 13-28 at the midway point in the season. They're residing in the Western Conference's basement, and are much closer to being the worst team in basketball than a playoff team.

Their attendance is down for the third consecutive year, and with what's happened around the team lately, there would seem to be a bit of a negative attitude towards the Valley's original professional sports team.

Not so, says Suns owner Robert Sarver.

"I would disagree with that," Sarver told Arizona Sports 620's Burns and Gambo when asked about an upset fan base. "I would say that we monitor all of the information that comes in from our ticket holders and our fans, and I would disagree with that."

Sarver said the idea that Suns fans are upset is "a good story" for the media, and is just one of many non-factual stories that have surfaced with regards to the team.

But, he added, he understands tough decisions during tough times will rub fans the wrong way.

"This is a tough time for a franchise," he said. "When we're not winning and we're not playing well fans are upset, and that all comes with it.

"What I would say to the fans is we're working every day to try to get our team back to elite status."

    I have a been a fan since I could understand basketball as a kid. I am a native and this team is all I had until the Cardinals came in. Here is my reaction to your comments MR. SAN DIEGO!!!!!! Not even a real Arizona fan. So go hide in San Diego! This SUCKS!!! Please sell back to JERRY!!!! Your front office sucks! Dan Majerle is gone and so is the true identity of the SUNS! I am done until you are gone as an owner or make real basketball decisions. We may have two draft picks in first round but those idiots will screw it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sarver, you are SO disconnected from your fans (the ones that make your paycheck). You have destroyed what Colangelo worked so hard to create here with Phoenix professional sports teams. Time for Sarver to leave Phoenix. We don't want him anymore!

    I think I actually HATE this man. I don't say that lightly. To hate another human being is not really who I am...and sports is just sports but this guy has cut me (us) to the core. This team has deep roots in the community and a very loyal following. Many of us go back a long way with this team and we are not just pissed...we are hurt. This is personal......it feels like we are losing a brother or sister. You ARE a hated man, RS.

    Someone is feeding him lies, and he is drinking the Kool-Aid. Time for a Fan meeting with the organization, an open forum. that would be a great way for them to see what we think about what is going on.

    Suns are going to be in the bottom of the league for several years, and really it's better to bottom out then to try and struggle along as an 8th seed. Doesn't work in this league.

    Sarver says he thinks the fan base is not upset, but then goes on to say when the team is not winning and not playing well fans are upset. So which is it Sarver? Geez you suck as an owner. We all know you dont care about fans, as long as you make your money you could give a flip about making the fans happy.
