As far as NBA teams go, the Phoenix Suns are about middle of the pack when it comes to franchise value.

According to Forbes, the Suns are the 13th-most valuable franchise in the league. The New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls make up the top three, while the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats and Milwaukee Bucks are at the bottom.

The Suns are valued at $474 million, and the rest of the organization's breakdown is below.

Forbes notes how the Suns have cut ticket prices in recent years, but that it really has not helped at the box office. Attendance at US Airways Center has dropped in each of the last three seasons.

Fans are tuning out at home as well with local TV ratings off a league-worst 37% on FS Arizona.

This season the Suns are 25th in the NBA in attendance, averaging 14,769 fans in 21 home games. With a 13-28 record and a season seemingly spinning out of control, it's worth wondering if things are about to get worse for the Valley's original professional sports team.

    Mark it down, may take a few years, but Sarver wont own this team by 2016, hopefully sooner. If he's smart he sells now, since they wont see a sell out anytime in the near future, and the teams value will only go down when they wont be making any money. I just wish there was a way we could impeach him.

    ... the reason this team is so valuable is residual leftover from the Colangelo days. That's the only way to explain it. I used to LOVE to watch the Suns. Now, they've taken a backseat to the other 3 teams in town.

    After all that talk on air yestrerday regarding the disarray and stumble of the phoenix suns franchise word gets to Sarver and sure enough he calls in and has answers for everything. Look as long as that guy is the owner of this franchise they will never compete. He inhertited some amazing players and rode the wave while it lasted. Lets not be mistaken this is all the Calangelo's fault selling this team to a Businessman who had no idea what he was getting into and Baby Calangelo bolting for the Raptors who still havnt made the playoffs since he got there

    was going to a cable only TV schedule. Lots of fans don't have cable. The tickets are ridiculous even for those who can afford to go couple that with a poor season and well...that 13th place should be falling fast.

    Nice drop the Suns were in top 5 before recent ownership. Jerry did a great job of providing great entertainment on the court. To bad sarver doesnt understand entertainment value
