Things aren't going well for the Phoenix Suns.

Sunday's loss to the mediocre Orlando Magic at US Airways Center pushed their current losing streak to seven games -- their longest since February of 2004.

And now, this.

Shaun Powell, a writer for SportsonEarth.com who has more than 25 years experience covering the league, has put out the following tweet on Suns forward Michael Beasley.

Beasley, who had the label of 'enigma' when he signed with the Suns, has done little to shake it in his first 22 games in Phoenix. The fifth-year pro from Kansas State has been relegated to the bench after starting the first 20 games of the season. Counted on to be a consistent scoring threat, Beasley is averaging only 11.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest while shooting only 38% from the field -- all career lows.

We're not sure what 'major shakeup' means, especially in light of the fact that the Suns underwent just that in the offseason, adding nine new faces to the roster.

    Suns Shakeup
Of the suns current roster, I think the only players we could be able to trade and get anything back for and are not going to be with us long term are Telfair, Oneil, Gortat, or Scola. Of those guys, I think Gortat would net the most, but even at that it wouldnt be anything better than a late 1st rounder i wouldnt think or possibly a prospect from this years draft

    Just goes to show you
This just goes to show you the Suns FO have no clue what they are doing. What were they thinking when they built this team? Its just a hodge podge of players. This also brings me back to ownership one of the worst in the league.

    Shakeup
Depending on the source, the alleged "shakeup" could be throughout the organization. Some time ago here, I speculated that Gentry wasn't extended because they will promote Majerle. While I dont think Gentry has done a bad job, he hasn't gotten a consistent effort from the team. IMO, Blanks and Babby have yet to show that they can build a team. I understand the team is sitting on money to be a player next off season, but that is the same story we heard this off season. Players aren't drawn to this organization like they were when Colangelo was in charge.

    well put dccoope
we are getting the norm from Gentry. I am not sure Majerle will be the answer? He may be, I don't know. Beas and Gortat need to go, Marshall needs to be learning here and not in the D-league, while a no future backup pg scores 0 points in a game. Marshall may be a little raw but he has a lot of upside and I believe will be much better than Telfair. Turner has a negative effect on this team, why is he here? Finally, spend the dang money already, this waiting for a FA bs is just that, bs.

    20 Wins Max
This squad is put together as poorly as we've ever seen here. No identity, no leadership, no chemistry. Way to go front office what visionaries you are. The only thing good about all this is they will be a lottery team for sure but who's going to buy tickets to this product? 20 wins max.

    Ownership
I will admit to being an old-timer that remembers the Suns first year in the league but this team has done virtually nothing under Sarver, except for the D'Antoni/Nash years. Babby and Blanks? Likewise they have done virtually nothing worthwhile but perhaps their effectiveness (or lack of) goes back to ownership. To @rdgroce: did you mean "Tucker" not Turner? If so I agree, Tucker plays out of control too often and hurts the team. Beasley looks lost and disinterested too often. Lastly why is a $1.9 million 1st round draft choice in the D-league instead of learning and growing in the NBA??

Alvin has been asked to make Chicken Salad the problem is you can't make Chicken Salad out of Chicken Poop, if he is able to get that mix of players to win 20 games he is coach of the year, Sarver has past the torch to the wrong group.

    Marshall
Marshall will never be a starter in the NBA. I am at this point leaning towards the opinion that he will probably never be a role player either. Utter waste of a draft pick.

The Suns CAN make chicken salad out of chicken poop. But it will taste really bad.
