The Phoenix Suns are going out on a limb, offering fans a refund if they don't enjoy next Thursday's home game against the Dallas Mavericks. It's called "Satisfaction Guaranteed Night" and offers "good times guaranteed or your money back."

"We believe strongly in the up-tempo, exciting brand of basketball that our team plays every time it steps onto the court, as well as the overall entertainment experience we provide here at US Airways Center," said Phoenix Suns president, Jason Rowley in a press release. "We feel so confident in our product that we are willing to offer money back to those fans who leave our arena unsatisfied after experiencing the excitement of Suns basketball."

ESPN sports business analyst Darren Rovell told radio hosts Mike & Mike on Friday morning, "If you don't go home happy, they will give you your money back. No questions asked. You go to the game, you pay for the ticket, you're not happy, you get your money back."

The Suns are 7-9 in fourth place in the Pacific Division and are coming off their third-worst loss in franchise history.

ESPN Sports Business reporter Darren Rovell says that the Suns will offer fans in attendance at next Thursday's game with the Mavs a refund on their ticket if they are unhappy for any reason
Their average ticket price is $70.

"They're not doing anything crazy -- they're saying we don't have a whole bunch of stars, we don't have a whole bunch of names, but we think we have good entertainment," Rovell said. "[The Suns] think we provide you with a great night. So if you're not happy with it, you will get your money back."

The Suns aren't the first local team to offer a satisfaction guarantee. In 2008, the Arizona Rattlers guaranteed they'd make the Arena Football League Playoffs, otherwise season ticket holders would receive a full refund on their seat purchases. In the end, the Rattlers made the postseason and didn't have to honor the refund offer.

Phoenix is averaging 15,063 fans for home games this season, a mark which ranks 24th in the league.

The Coyotes were the only team to have a Playoff Season last year. The dbacks didn't really have a great season either.

    Sarver Disgusts me
This team is the result of what happens when you sell draft picks while using the picks that you keep to pick project players. They should have statistically accidentally gotten lucky at this point. I can only hope Sarver is waiting for the economy to improve so he can sell the team. I won't support them again until then

I appreciate the intent of the promotion
but I don't like that they are putting it on the fans. Even if the Suns stink it up, people will look like jerks for asking for their money back. And if the Suns play great, they'll still be some jerks who will ask for their money back. It's just not a good idea.

Its about the product on the Floor
AZ sports teams take a backseat to divisional opponents across the board. i.e. Dodgers, Lakers, 9'ers. But we fans continue to support our teams despite the dissapointment it seems is becoming too familiar. We need a better product on the floor not ticket promotions. Hell, we just lost by 40 to a team with no one and in a city that's been devastated by the economy. There was no one at that game, but I'm sure the Pistons fans who did go weren't asking for their money back

    To quote Charles Barkley...
"If you're not going to be here through the good times and the bad, don't come to the F'ng game," and he said that during a '93 Finals post game conference. Everyone complaining about the Suns right now will be fans again, and act like they've always been a fan, as soon as we have a good team and start winning games again.

    Gortat
They better let Gortat have the night off. It sure looks like he is trying to pull a Dwight Howard on the Suns only he thinks he has the leverage to do so.
