We all like to make preseason predictions. For most of us, it’s the equivalent of throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.
But one former NFL fullback has got it down to a science, at least when it comes to the Arizona Cardinals.
As an analyst for the NFL Network, Heath Evans had a chance to pick all of the Cardinals’ wins and losses in the 2014 season. He made the picks live on air back in April.
April!
The former New England Patriot said the Cardinals would win their first three games of the year before falling in Week 4 to Denver. Evans said he thought the Oct. 5 game in Denver would be a tight one. It wasn’t, but that’s the closest to incorrect Evans has been regarding the Cardinals so far.
The analyst went on to correctly call Arizona’s six-game winning streak and subsequent two-game skid, all the way through last weekend’s loss to Seattle. And, unfortunately, he forecasted the final game of the season in San Francisco’s favor, meaning he had Arizona finishing at 11-5.
You can see the full video of Evans’ week-by-week Cardinals picks here. You just might get some chills by seeing how on point each of his game predictions are.
The Cardinals have one last chance to prove the prescient analyst wrong. They close out the regular season in the Bay Area, taking on the 49ers (7-8) at 2:25 p.m. Sunday. The game can be heard on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.
