GLENDALE, Ariz. – Though he got hurt late in the week, rookie defensive tackle Ed Stinson will play Sunday when the Arizona Cardinals host the St. Louis Rams at University of Phoenix Stadium.
The fifth-round pick from Alabama suffered a groin injury near the end of practice on Friday and showed up on the injury report as questionable.
At the time, Stinson didn’t believe the setback was anything serious though it did limit his work and may have an impact on his playing time against a Rams team that has beaten both Seattle and San Francisco in the past three weeks.
The Cardinals’ inactives include:
QB Logan Thomas
RB Stepfan Taylor
LB Desmond Bishop
LB Thomas Keiser
LB Glenn Carson
NT Alameda Ta’amu
TE Darren Fells
Taylor is sidelined for a second straight week because of a calf injury, while Bishop hurt his hamstring doing extra running post-practice and will be inactive for the fourth time in six games.
The other five players are healthy scratches.
Stinson made his first career start in Week 6 and has 10 tackles in the last four games.
“Pretty much Coach (Todd) Bowles and Coach Buck (Brentson Buckner) putting me in positions where I can make plays and me trying to focus in (and) make sure I do my job well,” he said, explaining his success as of late.
Stinson has played in every game this season.
