Week 8 NFL Power Rankings Recap: Arizona Cardinals gradually inching up charts

There is something to be said for slow, steady progress.
That’s what the Arizona Cardinals are telling themselves after notching yet another unspectacular win — this one a 24-13 triumph over the winless Oakland Raiders in the “Black Hole”.
Carson Palmer threw two touchdown passes while Andre Ellington and Stepfan Taylor combined for 219 yards from scrimmage and two scores.
Bruce Arians’ team is enjoying their spot atop the NFC West even more so this week after Seattle and San Francisco both lost, meaning the Cardinals have a two-game edge in the loss column heading into Week 8.
And while the movement up the various power rankings has been slow for Arizona following wins over Washington and Oakland, the Cardinals can really impress “voters” in their next two games against Philadelphia and Dallas. Those two teams are a combined 11-2 on the season.
